Matcha Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon ELEV8 Ultra Premium matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup of hot water (not boiling water, approx. 70-80°C)
  • 3/4 cup milk (or plant-based milk such as almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, etc.)
  • Optional sweetener: honey, agave syrup or sugar (adjustable to taste)

Preparation:

  1. Sift the matcha powder: Start by sifting the matcha powder into a small bowl. This step helps to avoid the formation of lumps and ensures a smooth texture of the drink.
  2. Preheat your mug: If you have a latte mug, preheat it by filling it with hot water and pouring it out.
  3. Mix the matcha: Add the hot water to the filtered matcha powder. Using a bamboo tea stirrer (chasen) or a small smooth blender, stir the matcha with a vigorous sizzling motion until fully mixed and frothy.
  4. Heat the milk: In a separate pan or in the microwave, heat the milk but do not boil it.
  5. Mix the matcha and milk: Pour the warm milk into the mug over the mixed matcha. Mix gently.
  6. Add sweetener (optional): For a sweetened matcha latte, add honey, agave syrup, or sugar to taste. Stir until the sweetener dissolves.
